In Reply to: Can I ask about the Pakistan Jeweled Rat Snake or will .... posted by Michael Beran on April 10, 2002 at 14:31:30:
I don't know of any care sheets, but just take care of them just like you would any other rat snake. I keep the temps around 80-90 degrees in the daytime, around 70 at night and feed them every-other week.
They are known to be mass-consumers of food in captivity, and some people may feed them as much as every 4 days. I choose every two weeks and just feed them a slightly larger meal than they would normally eat.
They are, however, a bit high strung and probably won't make that great of a pet. Mine are appx two years old. One of them bites me regularly when cleaning its cage, etc. The other one hisses about as loud as a bull snake but has never bitten yet. When I first saw them, I could not understand why they weren't more popular in the pet trade. I believe this is why.
: I get run off since this is the "North American Ratsnake Forum"? I was wondering if anyone has or has seen a care sheet on these guys?
