Hey Fred,
I'm hoping to have a couple of clutchs or so this year. I am working on selective breeding for jet black adults but I'm not that far into the project. All of my breeding of black rats is mixed locallity. I've noticed heartier offspring that way. Besides nice color matters more to me than what tree branch both parents were caught within 10 feet of. Sorry if I'm ranting too much. Dwight Good has a decent sized breeding colony,of nice jet black adults from Virginia and the Carolinas.
