I also have never heard of anyone keeping these. I don't remember them showing up on the Slavens inventory or the ISIS inventory when I worked at zoos, but I could be wrong on that.

It is my understanding that they have basically disapeared from the US side of the border and are hard to find on the Mexican side. Of course Mexican species are not imported to the US anyways. It also is my understanding that the localities where these are found do not yield other pet trade species so they are not collected.

I think this genus is also used for a plant species as well. Makes it difficult to do a web search.
