Hey Terry...thought I'd add to your story since I
just had an encounter of my own. Two days ago my
roommate and I went walking thru part of
Appalachicola Nat. Forest in Florida and came
across a coachwhip about five feet long. We
decided to try and catch it in order to get a
better look at him not knowing how far they can
reach out when they strike. This snake struck at
me while I was standing almost straight up(I'm
about 6'3") and he nearly bit me on the chin! No
lie! I couldn't believe it. He took off but we
finally grabbed him as he made several attempts
to bite me on the face-luckily never landing one
on me. I wish I had the whole thing on video b/c
it looked like something right off the croc hunter!
He definitley gave us some laughs that day though.
Just felt like I could relate to your incidence.
