: I usually hang out at the field collecting forum, but since you guys know more about coachwhips than them I came here. Does anyone know any good spots to find coachwhips in San Diego. I need to find them for my lifelist. Any locations?

I found a snake last week here in Lemon Grove. I am not sure if it is a coachwhip or a racer.
It is Black with a yellow belly and a yellow stripe running down it's length to the beginning
of the tail, then there are some yellow dots. It also has a yellow stripe on each side just above
the belly running full length. The yellow comes up on it's face in a kind of diamond pattern.
No one I have talked to knows what it is. Even the local pet shop had no idea.

Any suggestions?
