:I haven't got him to eat yet. I have tried putting a live mouse in a couple times but there wasn't any real interest. I also tried feeder fish. I'm not handling him much, I only have about 3 times since he was home. He's not to shy, Most of the time he'll sit in his cave with his head out but during the middle of the day he moves around alot and basks. Tonight I put an anole in and I'll see what he does with that. I haven't been able to find ANY toads now that I have him. There usually everywhere. Are there any foods racers usually go nuts over, like hognose's with toads or garters with earthworms? Thanks

the anole but then you might have to always supply those....not an easy task. try not handling at all for awhile and offer live fuzzies in a small cup parked right outside the hide and just leave them there. that oughta do it! btw, i've never seen a black racer eat fish. that's not really part of their preferred diet. small mammals and reptiles are however. good luck and keep us posted. my guess is that the fuzzies will do the trick.
