I started mine off in a 30 gallon tank. I used cypress mulch for substrate. Just gave him two hide boxes. One had moistend moss in it. A water big enough to soak in is good. I had a screen top but it didn't work for humidity so I just covered a good portion of the top with plexi-glass. For heat I used an undertank heater and a zoo med red bulb. Just keep the humidity high and things will be great.
