Had the follow up discussion, and while the toxicity differs, the mode of action is the same. They kill bugs the same way. What is different, apparently, are things like half-life, purity, stability, consistency, and decompisition products. Now the concentration differences between the two products differs due to the relative toxicity of the molecules. Apparently promethryn is more effective, rather than less, and thus is at a lower concentration in the product. At the concentration in the products, the BK is apparently more toxic, but unnecessarily so.
If you're truly interested, do a web search on black knight.
Then call pro products and ask about how they're different. Decide for yourself.
From my perspective, it's a lot easier to talk about epa approval than to get it, and it's easy to say things, but much harder to do the work and prove the talk with results. In my opinion, Bob Pound has done this with Provent-a-Mite. I don't own stock in the company, and was not paid anything for posting this. It is the result of my research into the issue. Hope you find it helpful/enlightening.
Regards,
Neil
