I have heard that this has been done in the past, but have not seen evidence in the way of pics. Actually, a while back, Reptiles magazine ran a hybridization article and mentioned that they have heard that this has been done in the past.

I have the opportunity to work with both species (6 Burms and 4 rocks) and do find it amazing that they could produce such hybrids. They are quite different animals, after all. Rocks have quite the tolerance for cooler temps, Burms tend to develop excessive mucous at the first sign of cooler temps. Burms favor high humidity, rocks favor a drier climate. Then there's temperament, girth differences, etc.

Long story short, if rumors are true that a hybrid Burm X rock has been produced, I'm not sure the resulting animal would be quite as hardy as either species....I must admit though, I am curious to see what it would look like.
