It is acceptable, though you don't say if the tank is one of the breeder dimensions or regular/tall dimensions. Turtles need a lot of horizontal space as well as length more so than height. If the tank is a tall narrow type, then you may want to look for one of the same gallonage, but with better dimensions or try to find a 70 gallon tank.
