Eastern Hatchling as Pet

My son found a hatchling in our yard this afternoon and fell in love. Can someone please point me to a good reference for comprehensive information on "Turtle Care for Beginners?" In particular, I'm concerned to make sure I have the right environment, food, and water for a hatchling. My local pet store didn't think a hatchling's needs would be different than an adult's, but I'm skeptical. If you can suggest even the most basics, I'd very much appreciate it.
