: This is true. Males can be very hyper during breeding season. Keep them separate and make sure he cannot see her at all...this may help him calm down. Many of my males slow down or stop eating during breeding season, but bounce right back after a bit.

I agree with Meri, try putting a piece of cardboard or something between the tanks so they cannot see each other. If that doesn't work, put him in a completly different room. As far as eating, have you tried any of his "favorites" A non-eater here got restarted with a couple of grapes cut in half, and hand fed. After that, he was downing everything given to him. Good luck, and keep us posted!
