One of my Cynops p. is 4.5-5 inches and huge! I think the description of neck glands were right on target...Paras seem to have triangular heads as well. When I first got back into Keeping, I bought Pachytriton l. thinking same family of Cynops...wow! what a big difference with aggression and size...I had some Cynops orientalis *(dwarf)...they would have been nice snacks for the Paddletails, if I didn't research them out first. It amazes me what pet shop tell folks..."Firebelly" encompasses most asian species and even some Taricha sp. (my first firebelly was a California red belly)
