In the lab I use salmon pellets, but I feed my pet axolotls pieces of freeze-dried tubifex worm cube, frozen blood worms (messy, rinse first), Reptomin turtle sticks (with shrimp as one component) and a small amount of beef liver as an occasional treat. I feed them using blunted forceps for portion control.
