If your newts are aquatic, you can use a worm feeder (an upside down cone with holes in it), or a small fish bowl so the newts can go into it a feed. If you just put the worms in the tank, the uneaten ones will start to multiply and could cause your ammonia levels to spike. I feed mine worms with tweezers, or I scoop each newt and some water into small plastic tupperware containers with some worms in it. The tupperware containers float on the surface of the water, so each newt gets to eat by himself without competition from the others. This also makes it impossible for their food to escape. I float them there for 15-20 minutes, or until they've eaten a good amount.
:Hey its me again,
: I was just wondering how everyone feeds their newts. I am trying to find the best method. I feed one a blood worm by tweezers this morning. I also have tubafex worms but do not know how to feed it to them. Should I set up a little feeding area (like bowl)?? Thanks for all your help!
