neighbors brought me a small keeled snake they found in their yard (we live near a creek and they have a pond). It is reddish orange, black and white checkered without stripes, big round eyes, short snout (compared to my great plains rat snake), black and white banding on belly and lower lip, eats only fish, very high strung and secretive. It's about 10 - 12 inches long. I'm almost certain that it's a juvenile of some kind. We live in northern Oklahoma. i've searched books at the library and at home to no avail. Is this a type of water snake? thanks
