OK, I think I got it. Live goldfish are OK as long as they're dead. And cold ones are fine if they're heated up.

I hear what you're saying with regard to erring on the side of caution. Goldfish are so darned convenient and other fish types are virtually unavailable! In answer to Pierson, no - I can't aquire catfish!!! Actually that's not true ... pet store down the street sells 4" blue cats for $8.50 each. Worth a try. If it does'nt take, the balance goes into sausage! Not bad at all!
Keep it up guys, remember, most of my books are 40 years old and suprisingly so is the information in them.
