After waiting for 203 days I got worried and opened my clutch of mhd eggs The first emerged today and looks pretty good. Not too thin, a bit on the small side at 2.5 inches total length. He climbed right onto my finger making removing him and getting him into a temporary enclosure pretty easy! I am just as excited as I was the first time I saw a tiny mhd emerge from its shell. There are two more that look like they'll be out soon too. I will just keep my finger crossed and hope for the best. I lost 2 a week ago when I opened their eggs. The first was as large as the one that came out today but was terribly thin and had no yolk left at all. The other didn't look quite ready and that's why I let them go this long. The one that hatched today has just a tiny yolk sac left so I am sure he was ready. I find that encouraging.

I'm sure I'll be posting updates and I'll get pics up as soon as I remember to bring the digital home from the store!

Marcia
