Monitors in L.A.?

Hi, everybody--

I'm moving to the Los Angeles area (near UCLA) in the summer/fall, and I wondered if there was anyone who had monitors in the area. I've heard that L.A. herp laws are really restrictive. Does anyone know what the deal is? I have two savs and a ball python. Thanks in advance.
