I just recently converted my young water monitors substrate from cypress mulch to soil, seeing as most people here are big advocates of it. The only problem is the soil is getting caught in his nose and clogging it up. I think it causeing him to have trouble breathing. I spray the soil down to keep it moist, but it doesn't help. My question is that is this harmful to him, or am I worrying too much. I usually just end up soaking him and then get the dirt out. Is there any way of preventing this? If so, what can I do?
Thanks for the help,
Tyler
