hypersensitive tail?

I took my 1.1 celaenops out of the cooler 4 weeks ago, and ever since the female has displayed what I can only describe as a hypersensitive tail. Even crawling seems to bother her. I don't think it is an ectoparasite. Is this typical for spring adult females?
