We like it cold here in the apartment, so the space heater kept the room around 78, as opposed to 60's. The tubs were 3' x 1.5', and the heat tape was set 10 deg above ambient, and they were only 12" x 3". It was perfect for keeping one side ~80 and the other ~90. Since they were in there they ate much better, had nicer temperments, etc.
