Ceramic heater wattage

Need a general idea of what wattage ceramic heater bulb would be needed for a 20 gallon long. Though my current thought is since i'll be using a thermostat or dimmer i'll just buy a wattage higher than needed and regulate it. But would like to know a ballbark minimum wattage.
