Does anyone know how toads are resistant to their own toxins

Bufo toads have defensive toxins in their skins and parotoid glands. They also have these toxins in their blood. Does anyone know how toads are unaffected by their own toxins? I am particularly interested in their resistance to the bufadienolides (although any examples would help!).
