Five years ago, I put down my 12 year old German Sheperd Dog because he was in pain (hips), and was becoming intolerant of little kids because of it. I worried about it a lot. I currently have only a beardie as far as herps go, but given the text that I read just now they could easily become a target of this legislation.
My beardie is less a threat to individual people, or society in general, than my 4 year old Golden Retriever and my two cats. Or my kids, for that matter. Aside from tail whips and snot, I've never heard much about threats from Green Iggies either. Pardon my ignorance on that account (maybe there are other valid issues) and about snakes that might exceed 8 feet (are they actually worrying about them escaping and eating the neighbor's kids, or what???), but this just reeks. What I want to know is what constituency group is pushing this??
