The biggest problem with a law like this is that one state gets it, and then it becomes a "model" for other states. Not only that, for breeders and other people who sell herps, there will be an entire state full of people they will not be able to sell certain animals too. Vendors who do exotic animal shows won't be able to take those animals with them if they are from another state and anyone who owns those listed animals who want to move there, can't take those pets with them. Who is all of this really going to benift? It will benifit the State who will now be collecting fees for permits and issuing fines to those without permits as well as the insurance companies who get to charge a nice premium for "dangerous" pets that cause less damage and are less dangerous than dogs and cats.
