Thanks, I was afraid to use the black light, because they really are annoying. I do have hide boxes on both ends of the tank too and she's always in the colder one.

:60 degrees is not too cool for a mountain king like L.t.knoblochi, as long as it has access to a heated area when it needs it (digesting food.) Measure the temp of the top of the substrate over the heat pad. If it is 80-84, then you're fine even if the air temp in the cage is cool. Also, putting a hide box over the heated substrate will trap heated air and provide a localized warm spot. You don't need lights, and please don't use a blacklight. Those things are annoying to human eyes, and I wouldn't be surprised if blacklights are annoying to snake eyes too.

:Alternatively, you can just use the lamp on one end of the cage and no heat pad, as long as the temp on the bottom of the cage below the heat lamp will get to 78-82. Up to you how you want to do it.
