:Just curious - who has the largest king in captivity right now? Anyone know? It's more than likely an Eastern, perhaps a floridana, but...? The largest I know of is a Pinellas Co., FL Eastern/floridana intergrade in a nature preserve near Orlando - the thing is easy 75-76" and has no neck - just one big muscle with a mouth! LOL A really mellow snake though.

:Everybody says they have 6-7' kings but I'm talking something accurately measured.

:If things keep going well over the next 2-3 years I'm looking at a 74-75" 6+ pounder on my hands. I posted a pic of him a couple of weeks ago and (I call him Ceasar) it's also on Keith "Milksnake" Hillson's site (Darien Co, GA F1).

:I've got 2 others, one "brooksi" that's 64" and another, old Eastern from McIntosh Co., GA (WC) that's 63-65" and has a HUGE head. The brooksi is only 5 so I don't know how far he'll go but the old Eastern is probably 9 so I don't know if he'll make 6' or not.

:-John

,,,,,,,well i have "cleo" a 75inch eastern he is 12yrs old and i beleive, his size is attributed to good health, good diet, and age he is c.b. and has never eaten another snake only f/t rodents he currently eats 4adult f/t mice every 8to10 days and is doing great his pic is also on keith's killer site on easterns(ocean co. n.j.) though thats last years pic i will try to get some current pics of him up soon, sorry but i think the snake eatin theory is rediculous its my opinion that it is age that gets kings this big and of course being cared for properly:>) but sayin a snake diet is what gets them big is absurd to me,also imho feeding a king w/c snakes is dangerous esp. if the king is getting old say over 10yrs. parasite transmission can&does kill captive snakes esp. older ones all the time,,,anyway thats my.02cents,,,,,peace thomas
