:I absoulutley did not mean for the folks in GA to be the sole recipients of the donations. It's merely A START. It's a FIRST suggestion.
It's my hope to (very simply) have a list of "approved" donatees who are either researching indigos / educating the public about indigos / or protecting indigo habitat and are in need of assistance. In my opinion, the individual breeder making the donation should choose which of the organizations to contribute to. Maybe we can communicate as to which has the greatest IMMEDIATE need, etc and make suggestions, but I have no desire to take the breeders money and distribute it...or to TELL them where to donate the money they earned. I don't want to have a formal conservation organization here, with expenses and employees etc...just a group of breeders donating a portion of their sales to various groups who we deem worthy for their efforts. The group getting each donation would send a letter to the BUYER of the snake thanking him for his / her donation and thus making them feel the money they spent on the snake is doing some good. I don't think it has to be so complicated.
