make sure Pablo knows about the forum and have him join in!(You probably already have)...I'll be in Argentina next month for some hunting...I really have know idea of the South American ranges of our favorite snakes..He would be a great source of info and probably a whole lot of fun...Good work, Carl

:AC asked about the pic of the peruvian cribo I posted a while back. I asked the photographer for more info and offered to put his images up on a web site for him. I'll post his last email below. If anyone is heading to Peru this winter, I think Pablo would be happy to show you around. Wouldn't that be a trip?

:==============================

:Hi Joe
:The cribos of my zone never have yellow tails. All
:have black tails, that is something caracteristic on
:them. Some have black lines in all the body and a
:few don't have the black lines and only are darck
:green olive. These are the least.
:The only cribos with yellow tails that I have seen,
:they are the ones that inhabit in the rain forest.
:These are almost yellow and some have black spots on
:the back, but these are the D. corais corais and they
:are very beautiful and big.
:Where does your D. corais melanurus come??
:The spilotes pullatus is very pretty. Since a long
:time that I want a couple of these snakes but I was
:not lucky. I have been looking for them in several
:expeditions to the rain forest but I never found them.

:I found others big snakes like Chironius fuscus and C.
:exoletus. There is not Spilotes here in my zone.
:The reptiles o

f my zone inhabit in a ecosistem called
:BOSQUE SECO ECUATORIAL.( Equatorial Dry Forest).
:I know a place in the rain forest ,where a freind from
:my university lives, where inhabit the Spilotes better
:known there with the name UYURI.
:Maybe this summer I could go there to capture and to
:take pictures of that snake.
:I am very interesting having a web page about reptiles
:of my zone.
:I could publish a good number of reptiles and
:amphibious pictures that are rare in my zone and in
:the rain forest. Also I could offer my service of
:field guide for people who wants to come to Peru to
:watch, to take pictures of reptiles and to promote the
:herping in my zone (Northem Peru). I could go with
:them to look for species like cribos, boa constrictor
:ortonii and many more.
:The only problem is that all pictures are slides and
:in the city where I live, there is a slide scaner. I
:have to travel to Lima to do it.
:Keep writing,

:Pablo
