:Yo Carl, very agreed (the austin power bits die slowly!).
:The capacity for wild squamates to heal is incredible (which is why I have to really laff @ most of this vet stuff..)
:very astute on the point of the contaminated cages vrs comparatively clean natural environment. I've fd. numerous snakes w/ savage old wounds all raggedly scarred & healed. One splendida king evidenced 2 previous vehicle hits!!!

::AC, I think animals in general, in the wild, are much less prone to infection and morbidity from wounds...Especially wounds that do not affect their mobility...Clean spaces, clean air, maybe less stress, no introduced germs from left over poop, etc...Healing is really not that big of a deal, and for snakes, they just pop into blue and come up with new skin, again reducing the chance of infection...Kind of like using pigskin grafts in humans with horrible burns..Provides barrier protection, allows tissue underlying the wound to repair, reduces pain greatly, etc...Carl
