Well since I bashed the guy on this forum and the B.O.I. I guess I should now report that he has made some effort to take steps towards becoming a human being again. I received a money order for $450 today (a refund for the snake plus $100 toward medical expenses....which have already exceeded $260). This wasn't exactly done out of the goodness of his heart. He did it in order for me to stop my criminal complaint after I tracked him down and talked with Las Vegas police.

When I first received the snake I was obviously upset but I was hopeful that this was just a abscess caused by a rodent bite (due to the location of it) and conjunctivitis and retained eye caps caused by neglect). This would have been bad but still very treatable. I brought the snake to me vet (a 90+ min drive each way) the day after I received the snake and the abscess was lanced and irrigated. The snake was put also put on injectable antibiotics. The snake's condition did not improve much and the snake was brrought back the following week. The abscess had to be lanced and irrigated again. This time we did x-rays which showed a fractured orbital bone and evidence of infection in the bone (osteomylitis). The snake was continued on antibiotics but has still not shown much improvement (in fact the swelling has increased over the last couple days.) I plan to bring the snake back this weekend again. The one positive thing is that the snake has eaten and drinks on it's own (unbelievable if you looked at this poor guy.) It is in shed right now. I am still hopeful but very frustrated with the snake's recovery so far. I am still upset that this guy will not acknowledge that the snake was sick or tell me what happened to cause this...(as it might help in determining treatment).
It's frustrating because I inherited a charity case when I could have got a healthy captive bred animal for the same price. Atleast the money I received today will help pay for it's continuing treatment.
Thanks to those of you who have emailed me inquiring about her condition. I also want to thank regalringneck for contacting this guy....I think you played an important role in me getting some resolution from this guy.
Chris
