Well 2 out of 6+ responding...Carl/Doug/Dan/et al...??
My ? arose from the idea that perhaps the guardians are their own (worst?) enemies. I have put many (many) kings together over the years & have very rarely observed them prey on each other, ditto for regal ringnecks (a super specialized-snake predator). So I surmise the general absence of the breeders observing cannabalism indicates its likely the same w/ indys.
:Yo all, Has any guardian breeders (or others for that matter) ever experienced a guardian eating another? Not including of course getting balled up on the same food item (see trick below).
:My Getulus queen tried to eat her much smaller mate when first introduced this spring (after 4 mice she calmed down & bred..).
:Did an interesting but old trick (arent they all..) today on Ms. BTC,...She/he(?) shed Wed. & I only held her to admire her gloss...till Fri...she was very energetic.. when she ate a big DOR spiny lizard. Then today, 2 mebbe 3 mice when I realized I needed to get rid of a dead 2' feeder (f/t) Coluber that my Getulus was to eat...but no Ms. btc wouldnt touch it, so rather than waste it (Getulus in blue) & she is a glutton...I used cotton thread & tied the last mouse to the head of the Coluber...Now ms. btc is too stuffed to move...neck to cloaca is all one lump! I dont recommend this every time but 1/x per shed cycle to maximize growth.
