:Hello Lisa; AKA; Thamnophile; gr8t screenname IMO...the afficionados of these genera tend to run in groups...
Thanks, it was the obvious choice for me (see list below)... are you saying that "indigo people" tend to like garters too? Considering the posts here about giving "trash feeder snakes" like corns and garters to ophiophagus snakes, I would have guessed otherwise, lol.
Based on what I've seen of indigos at a local reptile specialty shop that breeds them, indigos have similar personalities to garters, alert, inquisitive, really aggressive feeders, etc. Maybe it has to do with their higher metabolisms, etc. Anyways, I see garters as miniature indigos, in a way.
(Hope I don't get flamed for saying that, LOL!)
:I think a giant garter (gigae) would be another wonderful addition...
Giant garters are cool, unfortunately, many species are hard to find in the hobby (common, wildcaught, cheap, etc.).
I keep melanistic & normal easterns, albino & normal checkereds, Texas, a plains, a red-sided, and western ribbons, LOL. And that's just the garters.
Dasypeltis are the African egg-eating snakes - no teeth, and eat only eggs.
:Im surprised none of the guardian keepers have responded about the use/nonuse of chicken huevos. Take care; jg aka: rr
Not sure - what does "guardian keepers" refer to? So you're the rr from the garter forum? Cool!
Talk to ya later,
Lisa
