:Dear buddy in fla.
All captive indigos in fla are not illegal. I owned 1 6ft. male for two years in Palm Bch. County. The animal was purchased in No, Virginia And I was allowed to bring it to my new home in West Plm. Bch. I do agree that protection is in the animals best interest. I remember growing up in West Palm as a child. The eastern indigo was the first snake I ever saw. I was facinated. It was not until much later in life that I was able to purchase one as a hatchling while living in Va. My animal is now on loan to Gumbo Limbo in the Boca Raton area. They now have several animals that they wish to breed. I don't know if that will ever be possible. But I am keeping my fingers crossed. The offspring can never be released to the wild but the babies can be donated to other state parks so that kids can see the gift that I saw as a child. Thanks for the time in your space. Gary
