E.Indigo Prices- first of all, a big hello to my partner to my left at daytona,Dave B. we discussed, and i also saw it posted a few weeks back in the forum,D.c.couperi pricing. i have successfully bred awesome redthroat indigos for a 4 year span 1995-1998, and then 1 unsuccessful clutch this past november from a black pair. i, too, am amazed at how the prices have skied on this handsome serpent. i for one will not subscribe to the stories of :a)increased energy costs,b)not easy to produce/raise,etc,c)increased costs of feeding. these problems and the others addressed apply to all herps, and i have not seen the prices go up this significantly on them. my whole pricing structure with the indigoes was to make them fairly accessible to the seriously interested without taking away their childrens food and clothing, putting them in debtors prison, and in general, gouging. that being said, there is the simple economic law of supply and demand. on this point alone i bow to those who have been breeding couperi all along, and if this is the going price,so be it. just stop hitting us with any excuses. you dont need them, it's supply and demand, folks. just wanted to add my 3 cents. ps where can i get a pair or 2 of awesome red throats cheap? lol
