Bill Lamar was walking a trail. As he walked along the trail, a cribo shot down the trail from in front of him and passed just past BL's feet. Mr Lamar was kind of stunned by the Cribos behavior as it was going top speed and went towards, then past him. Why the cribo acted so weird was soon answered as a Mussurana was on the scent of the Cribo, passing Bill Lamar in much the same way.
BL captured both of them, then put them together in the same bag. The mussurana attacked and was constricting so hard that BL could hear bones either breaking or separating. Now Bill Lamar is arguably "The Authority" on South American herps and not too prone to exageration.
The facts missing from the story are the sizes of the respective snakes. But from the story, my guess is that if equal sized Mu's and Cribos come across each other, the Cribo is more likely to get the short end of the stick.
But like I said before, my hatchling indigos are bigger than the mussuranas which are definately older by some weeks or months. A Yellow Tail Cribo is going to get bigger than even an Eastern and probably has little to fear from any Mu' once adult sized is reached.
What is for sure is that I wont be testing my theory anytime soon with my snakes.
