Melanurus is believed to integrade with erebennus, rubidus, orizibensis, and unicolor. I bet the differences in color and pattern have to do with range and influence from other subs. Most I have seen tend to be very drab as babies (unicolors too for that matter) and it seems to be hard to judge what they will turn out like unless you have seen the parents.
Most unicolors I have seen resemble a black tail without the black tail…however…recently I saw YELLOW unicolor at a show in Columbus, OH.
It was an import, a female and he only wanted $200.
I’m not kidding, it was YELLOW.
What’s that you say, why didn’t I buy it?
I’m not going to name the importer who was selling it, but let’s say this importer has in the recent past had a reputation for selling crypto infected snakes…I wanted it…but figured it was not worth the risk.
I saw a pic of one in a book like that once…but that’s it.
Anyone ever seen any like this ?
Seen blacktails yellow like this??
