My 5 1/2 ' Eastern spent almost 20 minutes trying to swallow his 8" dia. water dish last week. He also had his mouth open against the glass so wide that it was completely pressed up against the glass, both jaws flat!
I can't imagine they see very well - when I used to feed live, the snake would corner the mouse and sit there, coiled and ready, until the mouse moved. Then the snake would strike - HARD! - the spot where the mouse was; if the mouse was still there he would have nailed it!
Yeh, I've never seen an indigo that didn't lose all control at feeding time.
