Got bitten tonight for first time by a Dry...

Fortunately it was only a hatchling blacktail. But my gosh, what an attitude. I hope she loses it before she gets much bigger. I just wanted to handle her a little to get her used to people. All was fine until I put her on the floor, and that sense of freedom caused a very strong defensive response when I went to pick her up (I guess). She did manage to catch me on my right index finger and my gosh, what a squeeze she gave me! I can't imagine an 8 foot snake with this kind of disposition - I'll need long leather gloves, a leather apron and a face sheild to feed her.
