how few times I am bitten, but, non the less, I have had my share of bites! Up until a couple of months ago, the worst non-venomous bite I had received was from a 6' texas indigo. Believe me, those big head contain some powerful jaws. I had just open the cage front and put a large racer in the cage for the indigo to eat, and before I could get my hand out of the cage, the indigo latched on to my hand just below the wrist and above the thumb chomping down on what I believe he thought was the racer! It was unbielable the power that snake had and much less pushing his teeth deep into my flesh. I have been bitten by boas, pythons and water snake and a host of other creatures, but that was one of the more painful of all of my bites. About a month aga I was bitten by a six foot black pine in a feeding response and it too was quite painful, but that is another story for some other time.
