Theres now been a wad of good stuff posted about this plague, I hope folks cut & paste em for future use; of cource unless you have a crypto folder w/in your guardian folder nested in your herptile folder....you'll never find it again!
Anyway heres my thought for today.... while teasing my cribo w/ a mouse on tongs & watching her slam it to the floor & pin it...I started thinking (ah dont those heinys stimulate evil experiments?)...I wonder if the guardians w/ their big strong bodies dont [particularly in burrow situations w/ multiple rodent prey items]...actually function as constrictors. Pituophis are well known to use this method to subdue multiple prey. It would make a great senior science proj; utilizing clear 3" pipe; Ho: The Guardian eats mamalian prey sequentially while alive, H1: Mamalian prey is killed via body compression prior to ingestion. Variations of this theme might include simulating the guardian discovering another snake in a burrow...
