If it's really "scale for scale" like an indigo, it won't be anything else but an indigo. But if it is heavy bodied with keeled scales and a white throat, it is a black pine. If it has big smooth scales and hoods or spits at you, it may be a cobra. But I doubt there'd be any question at that point. Cobra head scalation is vastly different than indigos anyway. Additionally, no species of cobra matches your description. Only people who are unfamiliar with exotic Elapids would suggest you found a cobra, based on your description.
If you really know your indigos to the point of being able to correctly determine head and body scalation, and the only separation is a white chin, why wouldn't it be an escaped indigo with an interesting white chin?
Without a photo, and assuming a bit of a misjudgement about the "scale for scale" description, I would bet it's a black pine. If you know indigos to the point of correctly assessing the species by scalation, you have an indigo with a white chin.
