Eye cap question??????

ok ok ok....remember a while back my eastern was having trouble shedding his eye cap--well...since then I have added a moss/orchid bark wet box in his home. He loves it. Ok...after his little eye cap episode, I noticed (and SO DID MY VET!) the clear area around his eye was partially damaged--yet he was still able to move the "inside" of his eye (sorry--anatomy is not one of my strong points!. The vet said that my snake is not blind--thank god! This problem has persisted after 3 sheds already....so its not something that is gonna go away--any thoughts?
