: Rob,
: I have had easterns go 14 days between first and last pips of a single clutch.
: Routinly they will go 7 days. THey seem to sometimes develop at differnt rates.
: I'd wait 2 weeks after the firts pip, then open it. If it SHOULD pip on it's own any day now though.
: I can talk you through what to do if you decide to open it.
: good luck

Thanks Dean. Unfortunately, I was left with the decision to either leave the last two eggs or pip them before I had to leave home for a week and a half (same thing happened last year and two of the neonates never made it out of the egg despite desparate attempts as witnessed by the many scratches on the egg). I decided to pip them because two of the other babies had already hatched and when I returned, one baby looked great but no signs of anything from the other....perhaps I should have waited. With the egg being slitted, I am sure that bacteria will be taking hold soon although the egg still looks good. I will just wait a while longer and just chalk it up to experience once again. Thanks for the great advice....slowly but surely I will get this indigo breeding down!
