: : : : : Here is a rather old pic of my oldest Eastern Indigo, the infamous, nebulous, "CADILLAC" who celebrated his twentyth birthday recently. This snake has been seen, handled and adored by literally hundreds of school children. A gentle giant. Well, the year that this snake was born, I expereinced about a 95% INFERTILITY rate in ALL Eastern Indigo Clutches. : : : What do I attribute it to? : : : Diet? (Nope) : : : Cageing(Nope) : : : Temps(Nope) : : : Inbreeding(Heck nope) : : : I attribute it to it not being MY TURN to have succes with these snakes. That year I produced 1, yes ONE eastern Indigo out of 4 clutches of eggs! : : : Ouch! (The next year I had about a 75% hatch rate, it was MY turn!:) : : : So, this little male was produced and I named him BMW. He ate readily, grew and was sold to a happy customer. This snake came from my "Cadillac" to "Lincoln" breeding, two snakes that are dark in color with only a faint hint of color about their chins. the baby came out all black with some white on the chin. : : : *cheers* : : : Fred
