Within the last week I came into possession of an adult, 6-7 foot male unicolor cribo. This guy looks like he's had a rough life, judging from the scars he has. He just shed yesterday, and today I am going to offer him a rat and a quail and see if he has a preference. So far all I've done is put him in a 4X2 enclosure and kept him warm and humid. He has a nose rub that's healing, and he looks a little on the lean side. The previous owner says he been wormed. The snake is active, alert, and does not exhibit any defensive behavior. When in his enclosure he mostly just lies coiled in his hide. He has not defacated yet, either.
I plan on building him a 5X3 enclosure pretty soon.
This is the first drymarchon I've kept, and while I'm familiar with the basics, i wanted to know if there is anything I should watch for, or any other advice people who have acclimated WC to captivity may have. I think this is more than I bargained for, but I don't want to just pass it off to someone else. One day I'd like to acquire a captive bred female as a mate for him.
