the picture of the indigo eating the much smaller was pretty impressive..for a small snake it looked like he was putting up quite a battle..king snakes are fearless when it comes to other snakes..while living in arizona i and other passerbys witnessed a king wrapped around a bull snake on the side of the road early one morning...the bull snake was at least a foot longer..the phoenix zoo brought in some king snakes years ago to control a population of rattle snakes that were living on the grounds.. 125 acres.. they wiped out the rattlers ..no ones seen any for a long time... but they also wiped out the other desert snake species ..the head reptile keeper down there tells me now they eat each other and keep the ground squirels in check
