: I have an opportunity to acquire a WC, light brown, 4 ft. "central american indigo." In reality, aside from a hefty parasite load, what can I expect to be the challenges of acclimating this animal? I've never worked with drymarchon before, but have had my share of WC malagasy hognoses and american rat snakes. All input is greatly appreciated.

****What to expect? Chances are the animal will be nervous, make sure that it has a hide. My best advice leave it alone for awhile then start offering food to find out what it likes or will accept. In my experience I have foud w/c cribos to be highly strung snakes. In fact I currently have in my possesion, a captive born/captive raised male yellow tail who still flares his throat and scoots around the cage vibrating his tail when you try to pick him up!. Eastern's are the gentle ones. Have patience and it will ajust without problems, Good luck!
