JO,
Snakes become "egg-bound" when, for whatever reason, they cannot successfully deposit some or all of their eggs. this happens most commonly with snakes that lay large eggs in comparison to the size of the snake, like indigos and Pitupohis.
Breeding females that are not large enough adds to the chances of this occuring, as does keeping females in cramped cages where they cannot exercise much.
